Kids in the Kitchen: Ham & Cheese Popovers

Thanks to Barbara Berry from Batter Up Kids Cooking Shop, my kids joined me in the kitchen this week to use the Cook it in-a-cup! that we had the opportunity to review. This kid-friendly cooking set came with 6 colorful silicone baking cups and a book featuring 29 recipes with easy to follow instructions.

My kids adore Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, so it was no shock to me that they chose to make the Ham and Cheese Popovers for lunch with their new cooking cups.

Ingredients:

1 package Crescent Rolls
1/2 c. ham, diced
1/2 c. shredded cheese

Start by separating the crescent rolls into each triangle and laying them out flat on the counter. Have your child take a spoonful of ham and place it in the center of each triangle. Repeat with the cheese. Starting with the wide end of the triangle, roll up the crescent roll. Using a kid-friendly knife, have your child trim off the excess on the end of the roll (you will have about 1/2 inch excess on each side). Gently place each crescent roll into the cooking cups. Bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees.

My kids gave this recipe 5 spoons up! They thought it was delicious to combine ham (one of their favorites!) with crescent rolls.
The rest of the cookbook was filled with fantastic ideas for ways to serve your kids healthy food choices in a fun way. And for $16.99, I think that alone makes it worth every penny!

Thanks again Barbara Berry for allowing me the opportunity to bring my kids into the kitchen with your products!
