1 lb Italian Sausage
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 t. minced garlic
2 T. Worchestershire sauce
1 t. salt
1 t. black pepper
1 14.5-16 oz. can diced tomatoes (can use Italian) - Do not drain
1 t. onion powder
1 t. Italian seasoning
Hot sauce
1 c. long grain rice, cooked
Cut the tops off the peppers. Discards seeds and membranes. Dice the tops and set diced pepper aside.
Brown ground meat in large skillet.
Once browned, drain.
Add onion, garlic, diced peppers, worchestershire, salt, pepper, canned tomatoes, onion powder, italian seasoning, and a few splashes of hot sauce.
Allow to simmer for about 10 minutes then add cooked rice and condensed soup.
Cover and allow to simmer for about 5 more minutes.
Boil peppers for 5min, Place peppers into baking dish, salt the insides.

Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.
*You can add grated cheese to the tops toward the end of baking and allow to melt on the tops, uncovered.

ReplyDeleteCallie here....I would definitely rate them just as high with beef, as I have done so. Side note....ground turkey wasn't as good, but the husband still enjoyed them. I have also used red and yellow peppers with this dish and enjoy all variaties. Enjoy!
