Let's play a little game I call "Name That Dish"!
When you live in Maine and people come visiting........THEY WANT LOBSTER! I've been collecting dishes to use for our summer lobster cook outs for a couple of years now. I pick them up relatively inexpensively at area thrift stores. This dish I picked up last week at a local Salvation Army store for $2.00. The tags were still on so I think it's in unused/like new condition.
Dish Particulars:
- It measures 14" from stem to stern
- 3 1/2" wide
- 1 1/2" deep
- Hand-painted by April Cornell for Sylvestri with lobsters & crabs motif
- Recommend Hand Wash
- http://www.demdaco.com/ (couldn't find it anywhere on the website)
It is obviously meant to use with seafood but it's intended purpose escapes me. Can any of you "Name That Dish"?
I think it may be a sushi plate, similar to this one.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. They do look similar, don't they?
ReplyDeleteNot sure how sushi will work into our lobster coo outs! :)
It actually reminds me of the way a local seafood restaurant serves their crackers--Captains Wafers butter crackers, specifically--along with smoked seafood dip in a separate bowl.
ReplyDeleteOooh! Now THAT I could do. Sounds delicious and simple. I like the idea.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I love the dish! Great find. :)
